This is for my friend, Holly.  She doesn’t like my out of focus pictures so this is a compromise: some holly berries are in focus, some are not.

I aim to please.

Well, OK, pipe down.  Some of the time, that is exactly what I am trying to do.

She’s having a bad time so figured this would make her laugh as well.

  1. You’ve got some snow there too. :) Although I’m starving now and it looks like sugar on berries.
Going to grab something from our sweet drawer. :D

  2. Very pretty – I like the depth. Are these the ones I shouldn’t eat, or really shouldn’t eat? Screw it, I’m hungry.

  3. BIG SMILE… thank you !

  4. We only received a “dusting”, Palpinao…not even an inch! But, it’s very cold.

I don’t think you can eat these berries, Mt. Brooks. Particularly, is you are not a foodie.

HJ…Ha! Good one, right?! Wishing you well, of course.

  5. That shot is gorgeous, Pat. I love it.

I just bought a macro lens for the first time… I plan to take some shots that i’ve never taken before.

(sidebar: before I hit ‘submit comment,’ I re-read my comment. It’s a good thing… because I had written “take some shits that i’ve never taken” in error. That would mean a WHOLE different thing.)

  6. This is beautiful…and it makes me want to put on some socks. It’s cold.

  7. Yes, this is a tad better than the outta focus berries. It’s beeeee ooo teee ful.

  8. Methinks this is The Christmas Card that the Singleforareason Empire should send out this year. Lovely!

  9. Like all great portrait photos, the focus is on the Big Cheese berries in the front and the blur belongs to the supporting cast.

I really like the cool simplicity.
So how much snow has to fall to keep you from heading out into the early, pre-dawn morning to shoot something in pan mode while driving backwards?
    Just wondering……..
    Do you have snow tires..?

  10. This is a gorgeous shot, my friend. Very festive.
