This is my town dump, the far side.

I’d like to put Nancy Pelosi and her sartorial spendor suits there.

Perhaps she’ll recycle into Old Navy and be able to talk without making me cringe.

  1. That’s the nicest dump I’ve ever seen.

As for Nancy, don’t be mad at her, just feel sorry for her. I think that being in the head space that requires one to dress that way is punishment enough.

    • Razz, this woman has always driven me nuts but this latest episode is just total cringe material. Pity is not an emotion she stirs in me.

  2. “Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death.” – CBS Sports golf analyst David Feherty

  3. Chris, my response is going to surprise you. I find this quote fascinating but not for the reason you may have offered it. It is a good example of so many bad comments in the public discourse these days.

Although as you can tell from this blog, my sentiments are not with Ms. Pelosi. My way of pointing this out is to post a picture of a town dump and hope for her to be recycled.

Mr. Feherty, who I happen to enjoy very much as a golf analyst (Yes, I sometimes watch golf!), is like every drunken Irish relative I ever had, and I had a few…charming, charismatic, terribly funny and horrible to live with because sometimes they are just flat out cruel and stupid.

Not because they are cruel or stupid but because their mouths get going faster than their head. He wrote this for a magazine in Dallas where he lives. So, I can’t even defend him as having said something in the heat of the moment on air. He has involved himself in charitable events for the troops. He’s a funny, self deprecating man (with a lot to be self-deprecating about I might add) whose trademark on air is insight (former player) with zingers and put downs of current players galore. He supposedly has given up drinking but that doesn’t prevent him from being stupid about his venom. This is where fast mouths always get into trouble. Thinking their thoughts are worthy on every subject. Get your knee pads ready, Mr. Feherty. He’s already “apologized” publicly for the remark. Why? CBS had a fit and distanced themselves from him. His next broadcast for them is next weekend. You’ll only be able to see his head at the broadcast table as he practices his mea culpa. The ironic thing is his likeable factor is so high, it shall carry him through. Others who don’t have that would be tossed, knee jerk, in a second. Should one remark get you tossed? No, but annihilation humor is in the Irish DNA. He lives in the right city. Dallas. Hell-o.

  4. What a pretty town dump, lovely sky, flowers and all.

Maybe if Ms Pelosi spent some time there smelling the flowers she could get some perspective, stop making a fool of herself, and accomplish something useful.

  5. Aside from all the brouhaha here, the dumP???are you kidding me? It looks like Spring in a park somewhere. Does it smell bad here? Because you wouldn’t even know it’s a dump far side or no.

  6. I agree with you on David Feherty. When did sarcasm with any suggestion of violence start to become off limits? I find it hard to believe that any reasonably intelligent person really took offense to it. The amount of over analysis afforded this quote is really ridiculous. It seems as though the media just needed something controversial to fill up some of those 18 hours a day of infotainment.

  7. Do you think they’d have room at your local dump for an entire parliament-ful of fraudulent expense claiming Labour MPs from the UK? To think we’re paying taxes to cover unlawful expenses, relative’s expenses, p*rn rental, gardeners etc requires a heck of a lot of recycling with a big, fat cleanse in the middle to be sure that no bad energy is retained.
