I went to an engagement party north of Boston in Essex, Massachusetts on Saturday.  It was a day of divine light and clouds and a blessed property of horse corrals, green pastures, and expansive spring green marsh land below the corral.  I wanted to photograph the guests but the property and the skies kept calling me.  Judging from my gallery of photos accessible HERE, I think Mother Nature was the guest of honor.

  1. What a perfect shot of childhood bliss. Really lovely.

  2. Childhood is somewhere between earth and clouds.
    You’ve captured it perfectly.

I don’t think fences will get in the way.

  3. wow, this is magical and yet so real, beautiful in its fullness of land, sky and pure wonder

  4. Joy, bliss, elation, escape, innocence, wonder. Mother Nature needs to be the guest of honor far more than we’ve been able to serve her.
This is so splendid. A complete antidote to the news.
It even evoked a tender and poignant comment from Ross.
I’d choose this as my screen saver ( but little Cloud would bite my ankle ).
Maybe I’ll make it my mood saver. Really, it transported me back to days of Lassie and National Velvet. And I thought that would last forever……

  5. Yes, sweet childhood, running on the great savannah. The amazing thing about this shot, Pat, is you caught them both without a single foot on the ground — absolutely airborn!
